Menhaden fish oil offers a rich, sustainable source of EPA, DHA, and DPA, the long chain Omega-3 fatty acids that are required for proper health and development.
In addition to EPA and DHA, our fish oil contains a recently discovered variation of Omega-3 fatty acid called Docosapentaenoic Acid (DPA). DPA is similar to EPA, but boasts two additional carbon units compared to EPA and is viewed as being a more "powerful" fatty acid. DPA has always been around, but research has recently identified it's impact on human health, specifically with regards to cardiovascular health*. One reason why DPA appears to be more powerful is that the body can store twice the amount of DPA in the blood vs EPA. The Atlantic menhaden fish is identified as the marine source with highest amounts of DPA compared to other sources.
